1. Last month, we took advantage of Tax-Free weekend in St. Louis and bought the new Macbook Pro with Retina display. I was a little hesitant to make such a huge purchase, especially since I'm not the type who needs the latest and greatest technology. I did, however, really need a new computer. My previous Mac got me through my final year of college and has endured much abuse since then. It was slow as molasses and crashed twice (I lost everything! Lesson learned--back up your data!). This new computer is a TREAT. A month in and I have yet to break Ryan's rule (the new computer is not allowed anywhere near food!). I'm loving how fast this computer is and can't deny that the retina display is pretty dang beautiful!
2. Recently the Huffington Post featured two of my recipes in slide shows--Mini Peanut Butter and Jelly Ice Cream Cheesecakes (pictured below) and Cake Batter Truffles. Check out their entire list of PB & J recipes here and cake batter recipes here. I have some leftover cake mix hanging out in my pantry just dying to be used in something!
3. Two Words: Gone Girl. Buy it or borrow it...just find it and read it. Don't expect to be able to do anything else until you've finished the book. I was reading it while in New York and Katie can attest that I kept sneaking away to read another chapter. Absolutely brilliantly written!
4. One of the gifts my sister and I got my mom for her birthday was this personalized family tree pillow from Etsy shop Blue Leaf Boutique. It turned out perfectly and I think my mom really liked it! I think it's such a great gift idea!!
