Saturday Randoms Via Instagram

(live Irish music from last year's St. Patty's Day!)

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Are you celebrating? The last two years we've been on vacation over St. Patrick's Day...two years ago in Arizona and then last year in Charleston. We don't intentionally travel for the holiday, it's just worked out that way :) This year we opted to skip a big March trip to save up for our September vacation (NAPA!). Since we still had the itch to get away, we're spending the weekend with friends Mike & Maggie in Branson, MO...just a quick weekend getaway filled with whatever adventures we can find in 48 hours!

Instead of posting a recipe today, I decided to change things up and share some recent Instagram photos with you (In case you've never heard of Instagram, it's a photo app that lets you apply filters to photos and share them with your followers. Basically, it's a way to make the most mundane objects look cooler than they are. The proof is below!).

So here you have it, a few random "behind the blog" pictures, to maybe inspire you to try something new this weekend...

1. Go to the grocery store and buy the 'manager's special' bruised & ripe bananas--there's no such thing as too many bananas! Make some banana pancakes, whole wheat banana bread, banana espresso crumb cake, or banana pudding ice cream! Freeze any leftover bananas for future baking projects!

2. Stop at Trader Joe's, pick up a tub of this cheddar and horseradish pub cheese, along with their pumpernickel pretzels, and try not to eat the whole thing at once. I won't judge you if you do though...it's  my new favorite snack!
3. No Trader Joe's in your area? Don't dismay, I bet you have a McDonalds! Pop in sometime this weekend and get yourself a mini McFlurry. You deserve it! (And you can't ever beat McDonalds soft serve! HOW do they do it?!)

4. Craving pizza? There's no need for takeout! Pick up a ball of pizza dough from the grocery store and pile it high with your favorite toppings. As you can see, we're big toppings people (sausage, onion, mushroom, kale, and cheese above)!

Happy Saturday!
