I get a little bitter when people start talking about the end of summer, especially now that it's Labor Day. Just ask Ryan, who made the mistake of wishing for winter (!!!!!) the other day when he decided he was sick of the heat (which hasn't even been all that bad lately!). Unless you want to get me all riled up, let's all pretend summer is not coming to a close and that cold weather is not just around the corner. To keep it in the forefront of our minds, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite recipes from Summer 2012. It's not too late to give some of these a try!
Parmesan, Pea Pesto, and Fresh Herb Pizza - You can't beat the abundance of fresh herbs this time of year and I was so excited to recreate one of my favorite restaurant pizzas!
Salted Caramel Pretzel Ice Cream- I'm ashamed to admit that we've eaten more ice cream out this summer than at home, but this was still some of the best ice cream I ate at home or elsewhere!
Saucy Onion Meatball Subs with Pepperjack - These aren't super summery, per se, but I was surprised by how much I (along with everyone else) loved these!
Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps - Likely a hundred times healthier than what you'll get at PF Chang's and just as good!
Fudgy Cosmic Brownies - Can you ever go wrong with a homemade version of your favorite Little Debbie snack?!
Kentucky Style Turkey Burgers with Redeye Bourbon Onions and Cheddar - Hands down favorite of the summer!
