1. My friend Kristen posted the link to this article, "25 Things Everyone Should Know About Nutrition", and I just had to share because I think it touches on a lot of misconceptions that people have about food, many of which are perpetuated by today's misinformed society. Go read them.
2. It's officially Spring!! One of my favorite things about Spring? Asparagus! You can expect to see several new asparagus recipes up this Spring, because I can't get enough of the stuff this time of year. I'll also be returning to many of my favorites, like the asparagus goat cheese gratin (pictured above), grilled asparagus salad, and raisin and pine nut asparagus. Do you have a favorite asparagus recipe? Leave it in the comments!
3. My sister Julia is a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children's Hospital here in St. Louis. In other words, she's a hero who goes to work every day to save the lives of little babies. Our family is endlessly curious about her work life and constantly questioning her about the things she encounters at work on a regular basis. We aren't allowed to visit the NICU, but we managed to get an inner peek thanks to this tv special--check out the link, you can watch all the episodes there! (Shout out to my sister's nursing friends who read the blog!) 4. I have about 6 weeks to go until I'm done with school. It's crunch time, folks....which is why Cooking Light's list of 80 meals under 40 minutes is right up my alley right now. I'm thinking this beet salad pizza and the poblano mac and cheese are must makes!
